You never really get used to the quiet. You thought it would be nice, at first; just the sound of your own footsteps, your own breath, your own heart. And it isn't wholly awful! You remember the city before the End, and you certainly don't miss the sounds of traffic, or screaming children, or people taking calls on speakerphone on the bus. It's just...

It's just that sometimes, it's almost too quiet to sleep.

The Only Living Boy in New York is a melancholy tabletop game about being the only living person in an abandoned city, inspired by the Simon & Garfunkel song of the same name. It can be played with any number of people, although it works best with 1-3.
